THE AUTHENTIC LIBRARY

If you have read our backstory of who we are, you maybe think why do you need a physical library? Well, even though we love a virtual library on our computer, having a real book in our hands is still something we really appreciate. We want to dedicate a room in the old farmhouse from 1812 to be the library. It will take some time before it is ready and functional. A lot of things need to be done first in order to start renovating or even think about building bookshelves. But we have time and we will do one step at a time.

MAKING A PLAN

Before we can start creating the library, making a plan is really necessary. A plan not only how the space is going to look, but especially a plan of what we all need to do before we put a bookcase in it. For example, the floor of the attic will have to be redone, a window and a door replaced, and the walls and floor insulated. In addition, the library has a fireplace that will definitely need to be checked by a chimney sweep.

Collecting more books!

We love to collect books, we have a lot of alle kinds of topics. But in order to make it a really cool library we need more books. Much more! Difficult part is, we are living in France. We speak a bit french and also can read a bit. But we prefer Dutch or English books. So it will be a treasure hunt to find those books here.
